too early
Right now, it is 4:05 am and im getting ready to head off on a mission trip to Philadephia. i feel almost guilty because im not really excited or anything. Ive been on so many trips and gone so many places that i guess this just feels like another trip. But i pray to God that it isnt. ~Jon Current Mood: busyCurrent Music: Jars of Clay | | Thursday, July 28th, 2005 | | 9:05 pm |
THe next tiger?
Hey, i went golfing today. I do this only once per year. Mostly i do it just to remind myself how much i golf. I discovered the secret to the sport though: you have to not care at all. No caring involved. That way you wont try and it'll fly alot better. But now you have to forget i wrote that, since you'll always be thinking that you shouldnt care whenever you go. but anyways, i got par for the first time in my life not just once, but twice! TWICE! i even got closest to the pin on the last hole. Ok, so it was on my second ball, but who really cares? I made my first cash from painting today. Its much more gratifying as a job once your customers fork over those crisp, clean, fresh twenty dollar bills. Ah, it was bliss for about ten minutes untill i blew it on another order. Such is life. I tried this survey thing, and im not sure how this'll come out when i paste it, so dont read it if it doesnt make sense. Sorry, here goes... | | Monday, July 25th, 2005 | | 9:16 pm |
Life and trees
We just had this monstrous storm go through our neighborhood the other day, and a ton of trees were blown down all over. TO top it off, our power was out for 24 hour straight. 'twas an interseting couple of days. So the rest of summer...i guess it encompases shell lake to the present. At shell lake i met some of my favorite people on the entire planet; Jake, Mike, Stephen, and of course, Megan. Megan and me hit it off very well, as Jamie said later, "i didnt even think about it, but your guys' personalities complemented eachother perfectly." She is an amazing girl. i can honestly say ive never met anyone like her before. Jamie, Liz and me then visited them in the cities, and spirited them back to E.C. with us later that night for early morning swimming and TCBY the following night. It wore me out quite a bit but sure was fun. 36 hour straight with the shell lake posse. Storm, and my friends giving me several hundred things to paint for the rest of summer and we reach the present. Alyssa just got back from her mission trip. Its amazing what God does, because while we were appart, we had decided we wouldnt go any further, and now we have no desire to do anything other than be close friends. Gotta love it how he works things out that way. We both met people that we had never even knew existed that captured our attention so much that we realized it would be a waste of time to try and go out with each other. We talked alot about her mission trip and all the things she learned. Its amazing what God can do when your put in situations that expose your weaknesses. But you'll have to ask her if you want to know more *smile*. Life is so mixed up at the moment, it'll take me a while to sort it out. Pray for me, anybody. I fear that i am babbling, so i think i'll ditch out and go play some horn. Happy birthday tomorow Megan (you didnt really think i'd forget, did you?) Bored (summer pt. 1)
Yep, so the day is long and ive crossed everything off my to-do list except for update my new live journal. So here i am. This summer's been an interesting one, to say this least. I did more socializing with friends the first week school was out this year, than i did the whole last semester of school. I realized i really missed it. Im going to have to not shut myself off from everyone this last year. Its my final year of 'irresponsibility' in a way, and by golly im going enjoy it. Back to summer... so then i went to shell lake and that was such a great time. I loved the time i spent with each and every one of the people there. I think Shell Lake is one of my favorite places to be in the world. The teachers are amazing, the facilities are sweet, the students are tops, and the only thing desiring is the food. Definitely not grade-A Chow. Yeah, so we came back and i read the harry potter book in two days. It has to be the best of the series by far, even with the sad and depressing ending (for those who havent read it, dont cringe. i wont spoil it). Suffice to say its the best story ive read in quite a while. Just finished Ender's game, and thats another thing ive tried to get back into. Reading for enjoyment rather than for, ick, school. Time to go pick my father up from work, since my car's in the shop. I'll finish the rest of summer and vice versa at some later date God bless, ~Jon Current Mood: chipperCurrent Music: Audio Adrenalin's "The House Plant Song" |
